It describes what the website itself collects. It does not cover information you give us by phone, by email, or in person.
What the contact form collects
If you fill in the contact form we receive your first and last name, your email address, and — if you choose to enter them — your phone number, the property address, which service you need, and whatever details you write. We also record the date and time and the IP address the form was submitted from.
What the review form collects
If you fill in the review form at /leave-a-review/ we receive the rating and the answers you gave, including your name and email address and, if you enter it, your phone number. We also record the date and time and the IP address it was submitted from, for the same reasons as the contact form. Your name, email address and phone number are never published by us.
What happens to what you write in the review form
It comes to us. Nothing you write is posted anywhere by this website. If you decide to post publicly, the last step offers to copy your own words so that you can paste them into Google, Facebook or the BBB yourself, signed in as you — those sites receive the review from you, not from us, and what you post there is governed by their terms rather than this policy. You can change the wording before you post it, and you can decide not to post at all.
A draft kept in your browser while you fill the review form in
So that an accidental refresh does not lose what you have written, your answers are kept in your own browser's session storage while you are filling the form in. Your name, email address and phone number are deliberately left out of that draft. It is erased when the form is sent, and browsers discard session storage when the tab is closed. It is never sent anywhere as part of that draft.
Why we record an IP address
Two reasons, both practical. It lets us limit how many submissions come from one connection, which is what stops automated spam filling the inbox. And if a submission is abusive, it is the only record of where it came from. What we store is the address your connection presents to our server. Some networks also send a header naming a different address; where that happens we keep it alongside, labeled as something the sender supplied rather than something we observed, because anyone can put anything in it. Neither is used for advertising or tracking, and neither is shared.
Where it goes
Submissions from both forms are emailed to Zack@lmsconstructionandroofing.com and saved as files on the website's hosting, in folders that are not reachable from the web. Only the owner of the business has access. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone except where we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
Two years after we last had contact with you, then we delete it. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will.
Cookies, analytics and tracking
We set no cookies of our own. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no tracker that we have added. Nothing you do on these pages is recorded by us unless you submit a form. Two exceptions, both worth naming. The chat button loads from LeadConnector and can set its own cookies once it runs — those are theirs, not ours. And if you start filling in the review form, your answers are kept in your own browser so a refresh does not lose them; that stays on your device and is cleared when you submit or clear it.
Third parties your browser may contact
The reviews shown on our homepage come from our Google listing and are collected when the site is built, not when you visit. If a review includes the reviewer's photo, that image is served by Google, so your browser contacts Google to load it. If you click a 3D tour on our projects page, that tour is loaded from youriguide.com. Links to Google, Yelp, the Better Business Bureau, the CCCIA and our social profiles are ordinary links — nothing is sent to them until you click. The chat button in the corner of every page is different, because it loads as soon as the page does rather than waiting for you to click. It is provided by LeadConnector, so your browser contacts widgets.leadconnectorhq.com on arrival, and they can set their own cookies and see your IP address. Anything you type into that chat goes to them as well as to us. If you would rather not use it, simply do not open it — and nothing else on this site depends on it.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Seeing or deleting your information
Email Zack@lmsconstructionandroofing.com or call 239-414-9100 and ask. We will tell you what we hold from the form and delete it on request, unless we are required to keep it for a live job or a legal reason.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date below. We will not apply a change retroactively to information already collected without telling you.
